Before Senate National Student Ombudsman Levy Higher education providers will pay a yearly levy to fund the National Student Ombudsman, a free and independent service that handles student complaints. A provider can still owe the levy for a year even if its registration is cancelled during that year, and the Australian National University is included despite its usual tax exemption.
